On Saturday evening a program was Therefore the Carnival was a sucâ€" cess. It may be that next year the affair will have better financial returns, because there is always a great outâ€" lay when such a thing as this is started. But while members of the club worked together for the good of the community, they were rnot alone. The firemen in a body, in uniform, were there helping at the various operations. Members of the Catholice Women‘s League and Catholic Men‘s Club memâ€" bers of the Anglican W.A., and their rector, members of the Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary of the Legion, members of the W.A. of the United Church, the Eagle Scouts, almost every organization in town was represented, not working each in a separate booth for the benefit of themselves, but mixed up side by side, going hot and strong for one thing, helping toward the betterment of their community. They set up the booths where games of skill drew the crowds night after night; bought the prizes and materials for the refreshment booths. The Club is very satisfied with the financial results, but should be very happy to rote that the true mearing of their club has taken hold and been on exhibition for all to see. The Carnival was a success. The Kiwanis sponsored it. They got busy and set up the merryâ€"goâ€"round which kept children happy and which was filled to capac ty whenever it was operated. The true community spirit for which South Poreupine is noted shone forth in greater effulgence than has ever been known in South Poreupine durâ€" ing the past thirty years of residence during the three days ending last week when the Kiwanis Summer Carnival was held in the local arena.
