Listed as Missing for Months Now at South Porcupine Sgt. Robert Hortie, R.CAF., came home unexpectedly on Thursday from England. His adventures thrilling and sad, will make interesting listening to his friends when he is able to talk about them. He was listed as missing for months and his family was overjoyed when they heard he had been found in France and was able to get to England and cable them of his safety. His mother knew he would be home but was surprised to greet him so soon. Sgt. Hortie was the only member of his air crew to survive after crashing over France. He was badly burned about the face when explosiun blew him to safety from the plane; but he was taken care of by a French family and after France‘s liberation was sent to England for medical treatment. It was with regret word was received of the death of Mr. Walter Orr, 67‘ Third Ave., Timmins, who passed awa\' in St. Mary‘s Hospital after a sho"r t' illness Friday, October 27th. He wqq} 50 years of age. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Orr, and came to the North in 1919. He was employed at the Canadian National rxâ€" press office, South Porcupine and lator was on the postal staff, Timmins, where he had been employed since the mail delivery started.
