Punécral services were held last Thursday afternoon at four o‘clock f011 the late Mr. William (Bill) Collier, 54 Second Ave., Schumacher, who passed away in St. Mary‘s Hospital, Timmiians, after a few days‘ illness, A resident of: schumacher for 22 years and an employee of the McIntyre Mine, Bill‘s quiet, friendly manner won him many friends with his fellow workers who sincerely imourn his passing. He wWaSs 44 years of age. Surviving are his widow and three children, Barbara, June and Billy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Collier, Wigan, Lancashire, Engâ€" land, and one brother who is serving with the Navy, The funeral, which was a very large one, was held from the Walker FPuneral Home, Timmins, to Trinity United Church, Schumacher, where the Rev. The McIntyre Footifall Club Ladies Auxiliary met last Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. James Stirrat, Railway St. The secretary‘s and treaasâ€" urers report was read and the books audited up to date. During the season over one hundred dollars has been donated to war work and cigarettes, and parcels have been kept rolling to the footballers on service. The Ladies wish to thank all who a‘tended the Wednesray evening card parties; also to the merchants for their generosity with the prizes for the card games; also to the Workers ‘Coâ€"op for the use of thtir store, Cigarettes and parcels were sent off this mweek to all the McIntyre footballers on service. Durâ€" ing the evening a dainty lunch was served by the hostess. After lunch a social period was enjoyed. The Ladies‘ Guild of the Schumacâ€" her Anglican Mission met last Wedâ€" nesday evening for their social sewing evening. There was a good attendence and a nice time was enjoyed.
