The Cathlic Picnic held on Sunday in the Buffaloâ€"Ankerite Park and sponsored by the Catholic Men‘s Club and the Catholice Women‘s League was a huge success. Hundreds attended, and the day was perfect, Supper could be bought (the ladies served) on the grounds, and sixteen huge kettles of baked beans and 68 loaves of home made bread were dispensed. Sports for the children during the afternoon were followed by a ball game between teams of Catholic boys from Timmins and South End. Two games were played and the cup donated last year by Mr. Dalton and won by South Porcupine team was again won by S. Porcupine (trainer Carlo Cattarello).
