Special The Advance. ~Friday evening the members of the Porcupine Skating Club met in a social capacity in the lounge room at the arena, to honor two of their members, Miss Margaret Kseley and Alex Fuiâ€" ton, who returned Thursday morning from Toronto when they brought back with them honor and distinction to their club by winning the "Pair Entry" Junior Championship of Canada. Mr. R. J. Ennis, on behalf of the club, had ueat pleasure in presi>nting Miss Keeâ€" ley and: Mr. Fulton with a gold wrist watch each in honor of the great achievement they had accomplished. Mr. Ennis in prmsenting Miss Austin, the insitructress at the club, with a lovâ€" ely bouquet ef flowers, complimented her on the fine work of her pupils: An exhibition of skating was given by Miss Keeley and Mr. Fulton. Dancing and social evening were enjoyed. During the evening a buffet lunch was served. Miss Keeley and Mr. Fulton leave Sunâ€" day, Feb. 14th, for Toronto. From there they will go on to Sault Ste. Marie and Michigan, where they will give several exhibitions of skating. While in Torâ€" onto they received telegrams of conâ€" gratulations from all the skating clubs in the province. Mr. and Mrs. James Dillon, First Ave., received a parcel this week from the African Gold ‘Coast from their son, Clarence. The parcel contained Christâ€" mas pres>nts, a pair of lovely vases and a serving tray with eight cocktail cups which fitted into inserts in the tray. The vases, tray and cups were brass and were all hand carved and paintâ€" ed, the beautiful work being done by th»> natives.
