Scott was held on Friday morning at 10.30 and there was an unusually large attendance of friends to pay their last sad tribute of respect and affection to one who had for so many years been one of the most esteemed residents of the town and district, Funeral services were held at the St. Matthew‘s Angliâ€" can Church and the church was not large enough to seat the many who attended, the number of oldâ€"time resiâ€" dents of the town being especially noteâ€" worthy. This was one of their tokens of the high regard in which the late Mrs. Scott was held by all, and the deep sympathy felt for the bereaved husâ€" band and familv. Early Resident of the Town Honoured in Death Rev. Canon R. 8. Cushing, rector of St. Matthew‘s Church, conducted the funeral service at the church and touched on the deep loss suffered by the community, as well as the family in their loss. After the service at the church the cortege proceeded to the Timmins cemeâ€" tery where interment was made, Rev. Canon Cushing conducting the last sad rites at the graveside. The pallbearers were: Messrs W. Nicholson, S. A. Caldâ€" bick, Geo. S. Lowe, W. H. Pritchard, As noted in last week‘s Advanec, the late Mrs. Scott, who had been a valued resident of the North for thirtyâ€"one years, was taken ill while attending a work meeting of the Red Cross on Tuesday of last week and passed away in St. Mary‘s hospital a few hours afâ€" terwards. Geo. S. Drew and M. Willians,â€"all of them early residents of Timmins and the North. Among the touching tributes to the late Mrs. Scott were a number of monetary contributions to the Red Cross in memory of Mrs. M. B. Scott to assist in carryving on one of the good, works in which she took so deep and helpful an interest. The many beautiful floral tokens at the funeral spoke of the sorrow at the death and the symnathy felt for those bereaved.
