They knew nothing of the call put in (by mistake) to our men. The chimney fire was quickly ’;_)t‘ out and all firemen of both depa ents had a good laugh over the incident. Special\ to The Advance. On Thanksgiving (Monday) afterâ€" noon some young boys of town amused themselves by breaking in to the Macâ€" Donald bottling works. "Pop" was the booty sought and the young miscreants worked stealthily and artfully to that end. A heavy iron bar was pried loose from a door leading to the room where tobacco was stored, and by breaking a window, entry was gained to the office and storeâ€"room. Notebooks were flung out of the window and general confuâ€" sion was caused in the room. The police were called to the scene after a neighbouring householder had his attention called to the articles beâ€" ing thrown from the window. As a sequel two very small boys made their appearance before Magisâ€" trate Atkinson on Tuesday morning, the older only seven years old. The two little boys had owned up to causing damage although it appeared that these two were taking the rap for older and bigger lads. The mother of the smaller boy was told by his worship to attend to him as he was tco young for the magistrate to deal with. The older boy received a warning from the bench as to what would happen to him if he broke the law again. This lad was put on parole and will report weekly for six months to a representative of the Children‘s Aid Society. Room for More Recruits in S. Porcupine C.W.S.F. The C. W. S.
