The picture follows the trials and tribuâ€" lations of a smallâ€"town girl who marâ€" ries a demon newshawk and finds that his editor seems to have first call on her groom‘s loyaliy. At least it apâ€" pears that way when he leaves her on their wedding night to cover a murder that harpens in front of their hotel. The murder trail leads to still ano‘her killing and from that to the secret headquarters of a Fifth Column orâ€" gvanization. But the young playwright begins to find more amusement in hobâ€"nobbing with the smart set than in writing albout it. At one; of the parties he aiâ€" tends he meets the lovely blonde wile of a millionaire. Her specialty is inâ€" spiring successful young artists, and she soon convinces him that he is throwing away his genius on writing such frivolous plays. Under her inâ€" fluence, he begins writing a play with a "message." Comedy" This Week Adapted for the sereen by. the twin scenarists,. Philip G. and Julius J. It takes some very shrewd maneuvering on the part of the smallâ€"town girl to get them out of this dangerous predicament. The action alternates bewween suspense and hilarity with never a letdown in the fast pace of director Phil Rosen. _ In the leading roles, Jean Parker and Wallace Ford do some of their finest work.
