Add oysters, Worcestershire and salt and pepper. Stir constantly until thickened. Dip the mold or molds in warm water just long enough to loosen the contents. Turn out and garâ€" nish with whipped cream and shredded cocoanut, if desired. In place of the crushed pineapple and maraschino cherries, an equal quantity of drained diced canned mixed fruits may be used. Gruyere cheese, Ovster Rarebit Mincemeat Apples 6 large red apples 1 cup boiling water 1 cup mincemeat 4 cup cinnamon drops > cup sugar 1 tablespoon butter Peel and core the apples. Avocadoâ€"Celery Appetizer 1 bunch celery 1 small or !4 large ripe avocado 1 teaspoon ï¬nely chopped onion 2 tablespoons lemon juice Salt and pepper Paprika Wash the celery, separate into stalks, cut off the tops and save them for soup or salad. Crisp stalks in ice water. Peel off the skin of the avocado, cut in half, remove seed and scrape out any of the brown seed covering that clings to the inner surface..Cut, into small pieces and put through coarse sieve or mash with potato masher. Add chopped onion and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove celery from ice water. Wipe dry with paper towels. Fill the stalks with the mashed avocado. Crankery Pear Salad 8 canned pear halves 1 pkg. cream cheese 3 tablespoons cream Pinch of salt .l sugar 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 cup raw cranberries 3 stalks celery 2 teaspoons grated orange rind French or mayonnaise dressing Drain off the syrup from the pears. Dry the pears on paper towels. Blend cream cheese, cream, salt, sugar and lemon juice together until smooth, Put cranberries and celery through the food chopper. Mix in srated orange rind. Roast loin of vork or chicken is equally delicious and will fit in small ovens. The meal can be just as gay if you give extra thought to the trimmings. Baked mincemeat apples with hard sauce have lots of Christmas spirit and provide a lishter and less expensive ending than mince pie or plum pudding. Salt and pepper Peel onions and cook in boiling salted water until tonder. Drain and Cthop onions fine. Scald milk and stir into the egg yolks. Add chopped onions and chesse. Season highly with salt and pepper. Pour into greased casseâ€" role. Set in pan Oof hot water. Bake in moderately slow oven, 325 degrees F., for one hour or until set.
