South Porcupine, June 17.â€"(Special to The Advance)â€"The Northern Teleâ€" phone Co. has definitely decided to build a new office here in the fall, next to the present building, and, we are given to understand, a new system similar to that of Timmins will be installed. A building byâ€"law for Tisdale is beâ€" ing discussed and will be drawn Uup in the near future regulatima the type of building which may be put up in the Township, and other important items in this connection. § TT nR CE PB Bornâ€"To Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Edwards of Minesta, in the Porcupine General Hospital, on Friday, June 16â€"A daughâ€" A banquet was tendered to the Pirst Aid Squads of the Dome Mines on Thursday in the Dome Mess Hall, all the members being guests of Mr. R. E. Dye. Mr. J. Stovel acted as chairman for the occasion. Prior to eating, all stood and sang "God Save the King," and the wonderful banquet was enjoy â€" ed to the utmost. Mr. Dye, in a very entertaining speech gave an outline of what the First Aid classes were doing â€"â€"not only were they for the benefit of the mines, he said, but for the benefit of the employees more. He was fully behind the First Aid classes and wantâ€" ed them to continue. The mine, he pointed out, does not lose anything by a man being injured, but the by being able to render first aid to his fellow is able to help him to keep fit, and to prevent greater injury by quickâ€" ness of action. Mr. Dye spoke for fifteen minutes before presenting the winning squad (in the recent First Aid competition) with the Shield.
