Bass, whils a game â€" fish, and the sportsman‘s favourite, are hard to rear in the northern lakes, and it is hoped by all members that they will thrive in their new surroundings, and give amâ€" ple angling sport in later years, Although plantings, which started in May, continued all summer till the last shipment was all placed in October, yet the total cost covering this work was below $50, and in view of this apâ€" preciable reduction in expenditures of the club‘s funds, a hearty vote of thanks was offered to the chairman and his committee. From the Property Commitltee, it was noted that all boats belonging to the club were being maintained in good state of repair which assures the club of many years‘ use yet.. Attention of the authorities was drawn to the fact that boats located at Perry Lake were Phone 1680 THE PORCUPTNE ADVANCR, OnTaRIO continually being interferred with by other than club members, and considâ€" erable difficulty was teinz encountered to keep these locked. The Property Committee statsed that everything in their power would be done to discon= tinue this practice in future. Considerable discussion was also givâ€" en to the matter of persons encroashing upon the Abitibi Reserve, where it is claimed they are fishing and killing game, contrary to the law. This game restrve, ocscupying a large stretch of lard acjacent to Iroquois Falls is beâ€" coming the home of many wild animals. and is fulfilling its purpose to an apâ€" precsiable extent. The auditors report which followed showed the club had a smaill defitit to wind up the past year.~ This small deâ€" ficit was due to a redured membership, throu:h sheortâ€"time operations in the mill hore, and fairly heavy expendiâ€" tures during the term. The expendiâ€" tures were mate necessary by the fine progress made by the club, and it was felt thkhat work achieved more than offset the small margin of deficit.
