Taylor and Maki Each Score Twice for Winners Packed Rink Sees Porkies in Rare Form and Cheers Winners in Enthusiastie Wav The third period had just gotten unâ€" der way when Campbell of Lake Shore hoisted the puck over the top of the South Porcupine net after taking a nice pass from Ken Grivel. Bean, of South End, was penalized and Lake Acheson nearly scored for Lake Shore early in the second when he raced in with no one to beat but the goaliec. Esseltine did a sprawling save that got a big hard from the crowd. Walton, of Lake Shore, was penalized and the Porkies swarmed around the net like bees but despite several close calls, could not get the tiecing goal. A few minutes later Boston was chased to the penalty box and Nevin picked up a rebound in front of the goal to seat Porter and tie the score. At the elevenâ€"minute mark with both teams at full strength, Frank Huggins sent the Porkies into the lead for the first time when he slapped in a perfect pass out from Taylor behind the Lake Shore net. Taylor and Bean, South Porcuâ€" pine defence pair, went the lergth of the rink on mileâ€"aâ€"minute rush, Taylor sinking Bean‘s pass just as the latter was bowled over. FProm a faceâ€" off at Lake Shore blue line, Taylor and Maki raced into the clear with Taylor taking the pass and scoring from a tough angle from left wing to put the Porkies ahead 4â€"1. Both teams were wary as the game opened and tested each other out cauâ€" tiously. Play gradually cpened up and cn a smart passing play, Olliver sank Campbell‘s pass from close in to give Lake Shore a oneâ€"goal jump on the Porkies. Near the close of the period Bean shot what appeared@ from the sidelines to be a perfect goal. The red ligsht failed to come on, however, and the puck was faced off at the side of the net amidst the boos of ‘the big crowd. The stardout performer of the eveâ€" ning was Taylor, South Poreupins rearguard, who scored two goals and had two assists. Taylor is one of the most improved players seen in this section of the league in yeatrs. Inâ€" coming forwards have a power of reâ€" spect for him when they hit the South End defence and with his teamâ€"mate, Bean, he forms one of the hardest hitting defence combinations in the league. As fast or faster than the forwards, he is a dangerous rusher and packs a wicked shot. packs a wicked shot. Lyola Porter, Lake Shore goalie, was carried from the ice in an unconscious condition after being struck in the face by a bullet drive from right wing by Horne. It is thought that his nose is broken. Bill Durnan finished the reâ€" maining twelve minutes of the game for Lake Shore. Bill Maki turned in a smart game for South Porcupine, getting two goals and an assist. Esseltine in goal for the Porkies was in great form and the two goals that beat him were well earned. The first string forward linec for Lake Shore, Olliver, Campbell and Grivel, were the best for the losers. €Ss10n. The s Timmins Arena H Q C K E Y !! With four minutes to go Taylor checked a Lake Shore rush at centre ice and made a perfectlyâ€"timed pass to Maki who went in close, faked a shotk and fooled Durnan for the last goal of the night.
