He asked the court to provide one. The court would Mr. Justice Meakins and a jury Lavoie broke jail in Timmins when awaiting a hearing before the magisâ€" trate on a charge of automobile theft. He is alleged to have stolen an autoâ€" mobile in Schumacher after the jail break. He was captured after a furious chase, in the city, by Toronto police. Back in jail again in Timmins Lavois was brought before Magistrate Atkinâ€" sen. He chose trial by a higher court, and was taken to Haileybury to await trial at Cochrane at the fall assizes by Charges of automobile theft and jail breaking against Wilfred Lavoie, of Timmins, which were scheduled to be heard at the fall assizes at Cochrane last week, have been postponed until spring. This morning E. L. Urquhart, recentâ€" ly manager of the Pioneer Stores, and one of the best known and most popuâ€" lar grocery and meat store men in this part of the North, opened his own store on the premises formerly occupied by Diemert Son at 85 Maple street, south, corner of Maple street and First avenue. Yesterday the business was carried on by Diemert Son, while henceforth it wili be under the name of K; »L, > Urquhnart. the: time "of" the recent purchase of the Pioneer Stores by the Consumers‘ Coâ€"operative Society, Mr. Urquhart desired to enter business on his own account and accordingly purchased the growing business of Dieâ€" mert Son. Mr. Urquhart was with the J. R. Gordon Grocery firm two years before that concern was taken over by the Hollinger Stores. He reâ€" mained with the Hollinger Stores durâ€" ing the years they carried on the busiâ€" ness, then going with the T. Eaton Co.. continuing with the Eaton Co. for six years, part of that time as manager of the store here and the latter part as manager of the T. Eaton Groceteria at Sault Ste. Marie. For the past three years Mr. Urquhart has been manager of the Pioneer Stores at Timmins and Dome. In his long experience in the business he has made wide circle of friends by his knowledge of the busiâ€" ness, his genial courtesy and attention to business.
