The Misses Frances and Mary King, of Porcupine, left on Sunday for North Bay where both girls will attend the Normal School. They left amid the good wishes and farewells of Golden City inhabitants who came in a body to the train to ses them off. Both Frances and Mary are graduates of South Porcupine High School, being clever, industrious and successful stuâ€" dents, showing talent in many lines of study, Mary having been the star pupil in elocution. We are sure that they will be as successful at Normal School, and add our good wishes to those of Porcuâ€" pine. South Porcupine is not the only town in the North that is growing. This Friday (Sept. 20th) a bridge party will be held in St. Paul‘s parish hall under the auspices of the Reâ€" bekah Lodge. A house of two stories had been lifted bodily from the ground, and the occupants were still in residence while a third storey was being addeq below the first. Evidently the roof was too good to disturb and the added storey below was the solution. It may be a common occurrence, but it was new to us.
