The Canadiens, a combination hocâ€" key team from St. Charles and St. Joseph‘s separate schools, won the Timmins Boys‘ Athletie Association championship in the 15â€"yearâ€"old class on Saturday morning at the skating rink. The High School juniors, with whom they played a series of three games in the finals, were blanked by seven goals. In the previcus games Canadiens won the first by one goal and the second was tied at one all. St. Joseph‘s School won from St. Charles in the 13â€"yearâ€" old T.B.A.A. Class. Canadiens were playing under a : ere handicap as they could only mu enough players to fill the positions the ice, with no spares. First Loss in Town Group for Canadiens The High School hockey team in the intermediate town league is now within one point Of the leagueâ€"leading Cana@â€" diens as the result of Friday night‘s game when High School eked out a four to three victory. It was the ltser‘s first defeat of the season. Monday‘s scheduled game between the two teams was postponed and will be played at a later date. High School‘s win gives them an exâ€" tra hold on the playâ€"off position as Tuâ€" xis have only three points so far. Tuxis are reported as picking up under expert coaching and there may yet be a real battle to decide who the playâ€"off teams will be. Here is the standing of present. The winning team was much the same outfit that went into the public and seâ€" parate school finals the evening before and was defeated by Schumacher public school. One or two players were added. In the 13â€"yearâ€"old T.BA.A. class St. Joseph‘s separate school won from St. Charles separate school three goals to This leaves the two first place and a playâ€" ranged. St. Joseph‘s separate school triumhped in the 11â€"yearâ€"old class with the score at five to one over Central. Here again some marked playing ability was seen and the effects of playground hockey as an aid to promoting the sport were shown clearly. Central public school defeated Matâ€" tagami public school for the 12â€"yearâ€"old championship when they made another one to nil score. So the honours for the evening were well divided between the representative schools. Mayor Richardson presented the winning teams with cups at the conclusion of the games. The final game on the card was Teachers vs. Hollinger Survey Office. Hollinger won a closely contested match four to three. High School Team Did the Trick Friday Night. At That There was a Small Margin. the championship after about minutes of play. Adult fans were surâ€" prised at the ability shown by players of both teams and there have been some suggestions made that might make it pessible to keep the boys playing toâ€" gether in order to work up junion material. Public school teams were the big atâ€" traction at the Timmins skating rink on Friday night when district chamâ€" pionships were decided. Neariy 700 fans. many of them adults, turned out to the first event of its kind staged in Timâ€" mins. Those who sponsored the games were a little dubious as to whether the idea would take but now it is the intenâ€" tion of the public school teachers to make the playâ€"offs an annual affair. In the 14â€"yearâ€"old class Schumacher and St. Charles school played some really smart hockey. Neither team had scored at the end of the three periods. Three overtime periods were played and still no winner could be found. Finâ€" ally it was decided to award the game to team scoring the first gcal and the Schumacher squad earned the right to Big Crowd at Playofts in {School Hockey Games Schumacher Wins 14â€"yearâ€"old Class ; St. Joseph‘s Takes 11â€" yearâ€"old Class. _ Schumacher and St. Charles Closely Matched. BOXING‘S BIGGEST BRAWL Fistiana will toss its biggest party of all time on March 15, when the groaning ring in Madison Square Garâ€" den will be asked to stand up under the strain of a between Primo Carâ€" nera and Ray Impelletiere. These bexing behemoths will carry on to the canvas a total weight of almost 500â€" poundsâ€"more than a quarterâ€"ton of ponderous humanity, which will wave its fists and go through the manoeuvres usually associated with a boxing bout. Whether it will really become a fight is problematical. ‘The size and weight is there in abundance; the boxing skill anq possibly the willingness to make it a real fight is only problematical. Imâ€" pellitiere, who looms into the atmosâ€" phere for six feet, seven and one half inches and tips the scales at 270 pounds has not yet proved himself a heavyâ€" weight boxer of class and he has been around quite a while. Generally he is classed a chronic secondâ€"rater. Carâ€" nera, the "Da Preem," whose ponderous 278 pounds wilted so helplessly before the concentrated fury of Max Baer in their title bout, may or may not fightâ€" depending mostly whether Da Preem loses his temper or not. It certainly will not be a boxing bout. Neither of these maulers has much skill. Strictly as a brawl between a pair of overgrown bruisers it shapes up as a success. A quarterâ€"ton of animated bulk should be be able to make the strongest of rings groan a bit and maybe by leaning 4A little on some of their punches the masâ€" todens may even hurt each other and make tie customers believe they are witnessing a fight.
