The late Mr. Mazzuca had not been in good health for some weeks past and had gone to Toronto for an operation. His death followed on Friâ€" day, July 6th. The late Mr. Mazzuca was a native of Italy and was 63 years of age at the time of death. He had been a reâ€" spected resident of Timmins for some 14 years, and his genial friendly presâ€" ence before his store in Moneta was familiar and popular sight. He alâ€" ways had a friendly word for all and had a wide acquaintance, being highly regarded by all who knew him. Wellâ€"Known and Popular Merchant of Moneta Passed Away ih Torâ€" onto Hospital.â€"Funeral With The late Mr. Mazzuca is survived by his widow, one daughter and four sons, and to these the sincere sympaâ€" thy of all is extended in their loss. The daughter is Mrs, L. Clausi (Neâ€" vada), and the sons are Caesar, Miâ€" chael, Edward and Gino. The late Mr. Mazzuca was a valued member of the Masonic Order and the funeral on Monday afternoon was with Masonic honours, the Golden Beaver Lodge, A.F. AM., attending in a body and taking part in the last sad rites for theire departed brother. The funeral was very largely attended, there being over 70 motor cars in the cortege following the body to its last resting place. â€" Members of Golden Beaver Lodge assembled at the Maâ€" sonic hall and marched to St. Matâ€" thew‘s Church for the service there. Rev. Canon R. S. Cushing officiated at the church service, and the Masonic ceremony was carried out at the graveside. Spadafore, Leo Masâ€" cioli, Mrs. Atillio Giorgi. Funeral Last Thursday of Esteemed Resident The funeral took place on Thursday morning last week, July 5th, of W. H. Gloster, for the past 13 years a we‘lâ€"known and hightly respected citiâ€" zen of Timmins. Mr. Gloster passed away on Monday of last week at the family residence, 70 Main avenue, death being due to heart trouble. It is only a little over a month ago that Mr. and Mrs. Gloster celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, the event being made the cocasion for a happy family gathering at which the couple were presented with a purse of gold and other expressions of the affection In addition to the bereaved widow, there are three sons and six daughters to mourn the loss in this death. The sons are:â€"Wm. H., Martin, and S. Gloster, all of Timmins. Two daughâ€" ‘ters reside at Maynouth, the other four :being Mrs. W. Patterson, Mrs. T. Scott, Mrs. R. Higgins and Mrs. E. Trafford, of Timmins. There are also 34 grandchildren and 10 great-vrand- children in which they were held. Mr. and Mrs. Gloster came to Timmins in 1921, moving here from Toronto where they spent three years. For the 35 years previcous to going to Toronto they had resided in Maynouth where they had conducted a farm with much success. The late Mr. Gloster was 70 years of age at the time of death. He was rative of Doncaster, England, coming to Canada as a young man and setâ€" tling at Maynouth, Renfrew County. Rev. Fr. Gabriel. Burial was made in the Timmins R.C. céemetery, The fuâ€" neral was largely. attended and there were many floral and other tributes testifying to the high esteem in which the late Mr. Gloster. was held by all who knew him, and the sympathy felt for those bereaved. President Neame to Attend Convention of the Legion The business of the special general meeting on Monday last of the Canaâ€" dian Legion dealt mainly with the choosing of a delegate to attend the provincial command convention at the Royal York hotel, Toronto, at the end of July. It was ‘decided to send no delegate as the branch inteng buildâ€" ing this year, and this made economy very â€" necessary. However, â€" Austin Neame, president, and zone represenâ€" tative, will be going as an executive officer of the provincial command and will bring back a detailed report. The offer of a scheme to finance the Legion building fund, by some outsiâ€" dors, was refused by the meeting. The scheme was to sell coupons in book form for goods, etc., on local stores. : Information was given re progress being made for the Legion building and it looks as though the branch will have this longâ€"felt want fulfilled before the winter season sets in. â€"‘There was a good attendance and a short social hour.. Austin Neame, president occupiled the chair. _ The funeral took place on Thursday morning to the Church of the Nativity where requiem high mass was said by Death of One of the Early Residents of Cobalt Camp There was not a single case on the docket at police court at New Liskeard the last week in June ang so it was not necessary to even open court there that The Haileyburian last week says:â€" "One of the early residents of Coâ€" balt, Mrs. Albert Morin, died at her home there on Saturday morning last, June 30th, in her 62nd year. Some 22 years ago she had suffered a stroke, from which she never fully recovered, although she was able to be around the house until five weeks ago, when she became seriously ill. Mrs. Morin, who before her marriage was Miss Vitaline Bisson, was born in Buckingâ€" ham, Quebec, and was married there on August 9th, 1891. She came to Coâ€" balt with her husband 27 years ago in the days of the mining boom and had lived there ever since that time. Her husband, twosons and two daughâ€" ters are the surviving members of the family. The sons are Fred, of Cobalt, and Joseph, Kirkland Lake, and the daughters Mrs. W. Price, Kirkland Lake, and Miss at home. A brother, Theodore Bisson, lives near Buckingham and a sister died two months ago. The funeral was held on Tuesday morning, with the service in Ste. Therese‘s Roman Catholic Church conducted by Rev. Father Chapleau, and interment in the R.C. cemetery at Mileage 104. A large circle of old friends and neighbours join in extendâ€" ing their sympathy to the bereaved husband and family." A letter of advice to shareholders is being prepared by Goldale Mines Limited to the effect that a stock option in Birch Bay Gold Mines Limited, Long Lac prospect, will be available . to . them. The property is understood to have some good assays and diamond drilling is to be started soon. Goldale has funds for outside operations, a recent estimate of its cash andstocks being $450,000. The company‘s last venture was in March, 1934, when, in association with Bobjo Mines Limited, in the McWatters area, exploration failed to develop mine.
