The case against the other man was dismissed, while a warrant was issued for the missing man, who is believed to have gone to Matachewan. Three pleaded guilty to reckless driving and each paid $10.00 and costs. Another highway traffic case was adâ€" journed till called on. A man caught with a bottle was fined $100 and costs. Five speeders paid $10 and costs each, four of them pleading guilty. One similar case was withdrawn. For not stopping at intersections, three paid $2 and costs, while another was dismissed. The store of Geo. Boychuk, corner Maple and Sixth, was broken into last week and about $32.00 worth of cigarâ€" ettes stolen. Through the good work of the police two young men were arâ€" rested and charged with the offence. A few of the cigarettes were recovered and the one young man gave evidence clearly implicating Stanley Norkum. Norkum conducted his own defence but was found guilty. To give him a further chance, however, he was leniâ€" ently dealt with by the magistrate, the sentence being not less than three months nor more than one year at the reformatory. The other young man was dismissed, his evidence showing that he had not taken part in the actual robbery. Only a small part of the stolen goods were recovered. A remand of a week was made in the case of Oscar Beaudoin, charged with supplying liquor tw an intoxiâ€" cated person. Four common drunks, one a lady, paid â€"$10.00 and costs, A fifth went to jail for 30 days. Remands of a week were made in the cases of M. Bainch and M.
