In one of the references The New Liskeard Speaker is frankly scepâ€" tical of the stories told and suggests that the polics might clear up the matter. The provincial police this week have done so. The police state that there is no "mystery" except why mysteries should be made cut of nothâ€" ing. The officers say the woman who has the baby admits that the baby was not mysteriously found on the raad. but brought to her by relatives of the unâ€" married mother. Apparently the story of threatening notes if the baby was not turned over to the C. A. S. were simply unfounded extensions of the previous "mystery" about the origin and parentage of the child. HANDSOME NEW CHURCH AT KIRKLAND LAKE DEDICATED Mr. and Mrs. Allan Lyman have taken up residence in their new home in South Porcupine. The large number of beautiful and useful gifts showed the esteem in which the young couple are held. In the evening a reception was held at the home of Mrs. John Doran (eldest sister of the groom), at which a large number of friends gathered to wish the happy couple many years of happiness together. Immediately following the ceremony, the bridal party and relatives partook of the sumptuous wedding dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Richardâ€" son, of the Dome Mines, sister of the groom. She was pretty in her powder blue frock, made in a becoming style, with fullness below the knee, and having a girdle of velvet which tied in a graceful long bow at the back. With this she wore a beâ€" ccming hat of French felt, in brown tones, matching the girdle. He shoes, hose and gloves were in the same shade. The resolution askâ€" ed that ind‘gent patients could only be charged against a municipality when the Medical Health Officer had given his certificate or two doctors had certiâ€" fhed to the need for treatment. In an emergency case the municipality should be notified within seven days. Weekly reports on all indigent patients should be made to thse munic.pality charged, the resolutitn said. Also, it was sugâ€" gected that in cases whore an indigent had nct resided a year in a municiâ€" pality the person resyonsible for bringâ€" ing the indigent to the municipality should be held liable. Copies of this resslution, moved by Czsuncillors Malâ€" tais and Chateauvert, were ordsred sent to the premier, the minisier of Lsalth, and the lozral member. The Buffaloâ€"Anâ€" kerite was willing to pay $3.00 per hour for the work. Councilior Maltais said that there was a letter in the mail to this effect. He warlted to run the plough to the Ankerite the next mornâ€" ing. In fact he had promised the mine that this would be done. Cauncillior Bartleman said that the agreement with the company front whom the plsugh was rented did not allow this. Councillor Belec said resolution passed the previous evening stood in the way. Councillor Chateauvert asked Townâ€" Engingser MacLean if he thsught it necessary to have a trial run to the Ankerite to prove the plough. The town engineer replied that personally he was satisfied the plsugh would do the work and he thought the plough had already proved itself.
