Timmins lost a worthy business man and a highlyâ€"esteemed citizen in the death on Saturday last of R. Mr. Sinclair had not been in the bessâ€"of health for a year or more past, but was arcound at business until a couple of weeks ago when it was necessary to reâ€" move him to the hospital for an operâ€" ation for apipendicitis. The operation was successfully carried through and ‘ast weok he appeared to be making progress to recovery, but his heart was affected, and though well enough to receive visitors during the day, he passâ€" ed away on Saturday afterncon about six o‘clock, lesion cf the heart being the cause of death. | The funsral tock place on Tuesday morning from his late residence to St. Ma : thew‘s church where service was conducted by Rev. He was the second oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Sinclair. When he was about three years of age he family moved to Ottawa where his father was on the staff of the House of Commons until his death. The late Sinclair married Francis Firth on Aug. 16th, 1882, and the good couple were looking forward recently to the so‘lden jubilee of their happy marriage h> event that would have been observâ€" ed next year had the hand of death not intervened. In addition to the sadly bereaved widow, two daughters, Mrs. F. Garner and Miss Betty Sinclair, and one son, J. H. Sinclair, in Vancouver, are left to mourn the loss of one very jear to them. Editor and Publisher) Nothing so unnatural, merciless and dictatorial as the censorships that are plaguing press correspondents and the local newspapers of several nations notably in South American revolutionâ€" ary republics can exist without the cerâ€" tainty of administrative corruption, This is exiomatic. "The attitude to be adopted in reâ€" gard to the proposed highway from Sudbury to Timmins and the aspect to be stated at the organization meetâ€" ing of a Narthern Ontario council scheduled for August 25 at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont , will be the main items under discussion at a meeting of the Sudbury Board of Trade to be held on Friday night at the city hallaccording to J. A. Laberge toâ€"day. "The construction ot a motor road from Sudbury to Timmins was supâ€" ported by city council recently, on motion of Ald. W. J. Laforest. The road would be. approximately 150 miles long, as compared with the present route of 367 miles through North Bay and up the Ferguson highway. The suggested road would pass through the Matachewan and Shining Tree mining district and besides opening up valuâ€" able timber country and farming areas, would give immediate employment to unemployed this Winter. "Mr. Laberge stated that the suggesâ€" tion has been made for the route to parallel the Hydro power transmission line now being built from Hunta to Ccopper Cliff and, according to inforâ€" mation given by engineers who have been over the power line location, beâ€" lieve only 15 per cent. new right of way would have to be cut. "Also, the present Winter would be opportune because Hydro construction camps could be utilized and advantage taken by the provincial Government of the Dominion unemployment relief zrant A definite stand will be adoptâ€" ed and later presented to Government authorities at Toronto, by an organized body from Northern Ontario. The proâ€" posed road would form a loop with the Ferguson highway and result in it beâ€" ing a tourist attraction. "The attitude of executive members of the Sudbury Board of Trade is favâ€" ourable to the Sault Ste. Marie meeting and it is possible that delegates will be appointed to accompany Mayor Peter Fenton and Ald. W. J. Laforest, official representatives for city council. A motion passed at a recent meeting of alderman supported the proposed Norâ€" thern Ontario council." Montreal Gazette: In discussing the heat, the Minneapolic Journal remarks that summer will soon be gone, so why complain about it when it is here? There is logic in the Journal‘s quesâ€" tion: â€" nevertheless, that newspaper should know that the public reserves the right to complain about the weather ali times, spring, summer, autumn and winter, rain, sunshine, wind or cold.
