Aide, Among the Winners on Saturday Last Timmins lads did exceptionally well at North Bay on Saturday last in the fifth annual meet of District No. 8 of the Ontario school boys championship events. There were lads in attendance at the meet from all over the North Land. W. Paice took first in the 220 yard dash and second in the 100 yard dash in the intermediate high school events. W. Finkelman was second in the 220 yard, dash, junior high school. W. Shields was second in the running broad jump, junior high school. C. Charron was second in the shot put in the same class. In the mile run, senior high school events, P. Aide was second, He is a junior but competed in the senior event, because there was no junior event. In many ways the Timâ€" mins lads were under handicaps and taking it altogether it must be said that the high school lads from here did unusually well. Next year, no «#ubt they will do still better. At the North Bay event on Saturday, competition was particularly keen in the junior and intermediate classes of the high school events, and honours were fairly well divided.
