These men are among those drifting in here without money or employment and becoming charges on the town. Some of them appear not to eare so long as they have a place to sleep and someone to provide the food. Work that would make them selfâ€"supporting appears to be disgâ€" tasteful to them. FPEW CASES AT POLICE COURT HERE THIS WEEK Sunday evening about 8.30 while returning home after visiting her daughter a lady was attacked near the corner of Montgomery avenue by a man who grabbed her by the wrist and attempted to throw her down. The woman attacked called for help, but at the same time beat at the man‘s face with her free hand, and eventually succeeded in getting free. The man‘s face was sore enough that hbe used both hands to soothe it, and the lady took the opportunity to run for home. Fearing that the woman‘s cries would bring help the man also ran, and by the time the lady reached home and secured help her assailanti was nowhere to be seen. The police were notified and made a search in! the hope of securing trace of the man. A fairly good description of the man was secured, but so far no trace of him has been found. The man apâ€" peared to be under the influence of liquor.
