A simple middy and skirt is much more in keeping with the requirements of school life than more fussy dresses, and plenty of individuality can be shown in choice of colours and material. It will save the daughter of the poorer parent many a ‘heartâ€"ache because she can‘t look as ‘‘nice‘‘ as the other girls and we firmly believe it will be a benefit to the young wmiss who loves to be ‘‘*primped up‘‘ to put her mind on her school work instead of on her clothes during school period and thus gain the companionship and confidence of her whole class, instead of that feeling of superiority that being the best dressed girl is prone to give one. Distinctions will be made soon enough in life. There is to be a full new staff of teachers and if the girls could be prevailed upon to make the middy and skirt the proper type of schoolâ€"girl dress it is felt that much would be added to their efficiency, as there would not be the continual wondering among the lassies as to which one was dressed the nicer. Also the ‘*dollingâ€" up‘ of schoolâ€"girls does not play fair with the parents who are anxious for their daughters to continue their eduâ€" cation but who feel they cannot force their girls to go to school dressed so Brigadier Taylor, for some years the gifted editor of The War Cry for Canâ€" ada East, has been promoted to the post of field superintendent of the S.
