He expects to have only a quarter of a normal yield this years, despite all efforts to diâ€" vorse the maggots from their cabbage homes. He says he set out about 40,000 cabbage plants, but will have only about ten thousand cabbages, Around this district market gardenâ€" ers have not been complaining about maggots on their cabbages. Longpres some years ago started the system of sellâ€" ing tickets giving the right to pick berries on his property in Mountjoy township. _ _Mr. Longpres found the system worked pretty well and he is again following the plan this year. He rightly receives a few dollars for the use of his property by the berry pickers and on the other hand the pickers appear to be quite satisfied to pay the fee for the privilege. Those who will not pay for a ticket have to keep off Mr. Longpres property or be prosecuted for trespass. Mr. Longpres finds that his farm is much better used under this system than in earlier years when anybody that felt like it went on the place to pick berries.
