THOMAS FOSTER, Mavor. South Porcupine for its attractive Labour Day events. This year it is intended to exeel even the big successes of the past. Plans to this end are now under way. The Union men at the Falls recently held a meeting in the matter and it was deâ€" cided to put forth special efforts to make Labour Day this year bigger and better than ever. The morning will be featured by athletic sports for the children, and in the afternoon there will be a big programme of open events. _ Baseball will be featured, and there will likely be football as well. A Labour Day parade is to be another special feature. This feature has not been emphasized in recent years, ‘but it was at one time one of the big specials of the occasion, the floats from different departments and trades being alone worth more than the price of admission to view. This year it is intended to reâ€"establish the parade, and every union will be asked to have every member in the parade. The parade will not be a long one, but most of the unions will march in cosâ€" tume, and this feature should be most attractive. Mr. P. H. Kenney was elected genâ€" eral chairman, and the following were elected as chairmen of the various committees in charge of the event :â€" D. Rennie, finance; Frank Bean, genâ€" eral arrangements; R. W. Crumb, sports; _ J. Vanier, advertising; Raleigh F. Sawyer, parade.
