The following letter received this week by The Advance speaks for itâ€" self :â€" To the Editor, Poreupine Advance, Timmins, Ont. Dear Sir:â€"During the past winter you gave large publicity to the work and organization of the St. John Amâ€" bulance Brigade here. _ The branch was organized and thanks to very generous support by both the public and The Advance, they have been able to become fully equipped and a decided asset to the town of Timmins. The organization has proved its worth, and those attending the recent footâ€" ball games and the Arrow Club sports on the 24th of May, will have seen the members attending medically to those unfortunate enough to beâ€" come hurt in any way. Two members are detailed to each game, and on bigâ€" ger events a full squad of men are on duty. Last Saturday their efforts on one man, E. Street, who received a very bad twist, were so prompt and efficient that they prevented serious complications setting in. This is the sort of thing that helps to make good fellowship. cce csw w ce c c w cce es en hi The public will perhaps be asked soon to contribute again to this cause, and here‘s hoping it will be generousâ€" ly responded to, as it certainly should be., The local brigade are worthy of the thanks of all good sports, and I, for one, hope that their good work will be carried on all through the season and into many others.
