The switches and transformers are burnt out, the fire having originated from water from one of the pumps striking the switch. The electricians were working on the packing of one of the pumps in which the water was much higher than had been contemplated and a leak occurred. The large fire truck could not get over owing to the poor roads but most of the firemen got there anyway. Owing to the presence of live wires, etc., one of the bosses from the Dome would not let them enter the building when they got there until it was certain the power was all hut off.
