Every driver qualified and licensed and every car ecovered by indemnity insurance would soon reduce motor accidents and remove much of the loss now too often entailed on the unâ€" offending public. And while on this matter the Govâ€" ernment also would do well to consiâ€" der the question of every car in use being bonded or insured so that inâ€" demnity may be seeured for any inâ€" jury or damage done. Complusory indemnity insurance for all motor cars would avoid much loss and inâ€" justice to the innocent. In these days of a dollar down and a dollar : week, many people are running cars, especially inâ€"~the cities, who have no other property, and who do not own enough interest in the ear to pay for Some time ago the Ontario Legislaâ€" ure passed an act whereby every driver of a motor yehicle (\\hethor the owner or not) had to pass a qualiâ€" fying examination as to his ability as a driver and to secure a license as a qualified driver before he could be in charge of a car. Now, word comes from Toronto that in view of the inâ€" creasing number of motor accidents in the Provmce, the Government inâ€" tends next year to proclaim the act and put it in foree. Why not make it effective this year and so avoid a number of further accidents? There are men now driving ears, who for physical and other reasons, are utterâ€" ly incompetent and a menace to the public. Why continue this danger unnecessarily? Why not make the act‘ effective at once, or as soon as it can be enforceed? NEXT YEAR ALL MOTOR CAR DRIVERS TO BE LICENSED surer; T; E. Brown, B.A., Ottawa, state secretary; George P.
