The Porcupine Advance, Timmins, Ont., Thurs., Nov. 12th. 1925 The flaming cross, the symbol of the Ku Klux Klan, was burned on the knoll across from the C.N.R. tracks at North Bay last Wednesday, signifyâ€" ing that the Klan has been duly orâ€" gcanized in the baby city. The Klan claims to have 200 to 250 members at North Bay, it is stated by The Nugget. A number of the influenâ€" tial men of the city are members, acâ€" cording to the same authority, which adds that the white robes and helâ€" mets have been ordered for the memâ€" bers, but because of the rapid growth of the organization in Canada, it has been impossible to get the orders filled. GEOLOGY OF THE NORTH A report by Dr. W. H. Colling on the geology of the north shore of Lake Huron has ben publishd by the Lake Huron has been published â€"by the Geological Survey of Canada. It presents the results of a detailed examination _ of, ‘the lithological, structural, and stratigraphic features of the Precambrian rocks underlying the area and of the age relations of the different systems. The section of country studied includes the type Huronian area and the report will consequently prove of intense interâ€" est to students of Precambrian geoâ€" logy. Judge Hawley 8. Mott, of the Juâ€" venile Court of Toronto, was a visitor last week to several Northern Onâ€" tario towns, including Haileybury, Cobalt and New Liskeard. At each of the places visited Judge Mott had opportunity to address public gatherâ€" ings of one sort or another. At Cobalt he was a guest®=at luncheon of the Kiwanis Club. In his address, there was much that should set people in general thinking, and especially appeal to parents.
