Later reports state that Miss Orr has ‘been advised by ‘her Speciaâ€" list totake a good rest. It is most probable that the ~constant strain with overwork are responsible for her sudden setback. â€" Those who know Miss Orr, can easily realize, that her untiring efforts in behalf of the many who desi‘»d her most courteous favors while performing her duties at the Post Office, had much to do with her present condition. 1 The Reeve of the Township meeivâ€" ed a letter last week from Broadcastâ€" ing Manager, 8. SCHROEDER CONCERT AN UNUSUALLY PLEASING ONE. The â€" Poreupine Goldfields Band have announced their intention â€" of holding a band concert in the Majesâ€" tic Theatre on Sunday Eve, April Mr. L. S. Newton capably occupied the chair for the evening and in a brief but appropriate address introâ€" duced the programme. It was a long and varied programme, with every single item doing credit to the artists and to Mr. Schroeder. _ There was not a number that was not unusually well given. There was not a number but was thoroughly enjoyed. _ The Banjo Quatette, the Violin Choir, the Junior Orchestra, and the individual solos and duets all proved special favourites. _ Solos by Mrs. Huxley and Miss Charron were vocal numbers that were specially appreciated, as was also the song by the clever little Missâ€"Gwen Smith. Every item would have been encored, had there been time enough. Every number would be specially commented upon and praised«â€"were there space enough available. Let it suffice to say that every number, without exception, was specially good. The programme was as follows:â€"Selection by Junior Orâ€" chestra; piano solo, by Isabel Drew; Guitar selection, Messrs. LaMotte and Ash; violin selection, A. Vaechino; vocal solo, Mrs. Huxley; piano duet, odul wGidal Gladys Fairbrother and Mr. Scehroedâ€" er; violin solo, Master Willie Shub; violin duet, Evaline Reginbalt and Vieno Pirtisalo;, Banjyo Quartette; piano duet, Mr. Lawrence and Miss 26th, after church services. The March Gold Mines, in Deloro, have crosscut their one body at the one hundred foot level. ‘Conditions at that point were found to be very fayâ€" orable. ‘The shaft is being continued to the two hundred foot leve} where another station will be cut. : A party of prospectors returned last week from ‘Deloro and reported considerable activity throughout the township.© Other prospectors have been seen leaving this week for, Shaw township to get a good start with their assessment work during the conâ€" tinued good weather. Just when the snow is about gone and the dust starts gatherimg on the roadis, someone has to spoil it all by saying that we will have another six feet of snow beforne summer. If it were a coalâ€"dealer making the stateâ€" ment, we would believe that lhis opâ€" timistic remark was well founded. The old School Building has ‘been raised from its moorings and is being moved to a new and attractive site adjoining the English Church. Like an old pnecious book that has been sent to the bindery to be ibound for preservation, so will the old school be remodelled and once again in tive service, but this time as none other than the new Public Library. The building carries with it many memories of the early days, especially for the pioneers who strived in those times to maintain so meagre an eduâ€" cational abode; to them it shall alâ€" ways remain a preuous landmark of histomy, and they will feel satisfied to know that it can still be of further educational value. The superâ€"special ‘Smilin‘ Thru,""‘ featuring Norma Talmadge will be shown at the Majestic Theatre on Monday and Tuesday next. A speciâ€" al matinee will be run on Easter Monâ€" day at 2.30 pam.
