Their Majesties the King and Queen of England and the King and Queen of Italy were visitors to the building of the Canadian National Railways at the British Empire Exhibition. The two Queens showed great interest in the Revolving Scenic Model of Jasper National Park and the Triangle Tour and the two Kings gave a keen inspection to the transportation eqinpment exhilit. The Italian monarch showed much surprise when told ofsthe ertent of the National System, and both monarchs congratulated the Railway officers upon the appearance and attractiveness of the exhibit. The two Queens asked to be given models of the famous " 6000‘ type of passenger engines, and models in gold and silver were sent to them. NORTH BAY BUSINESS MEN PLAN TOUR OF NORTH LAND For over a year and a half the Children‘s Aid Society of Temiskâ€" aming has been suffering under the handicap of lack ~of a temporary Shelter for the children coming under the ‘care of the Society. ‘Recently, the Society overeame this handicap. by the purchase from Mr. R. Leheup of the building on Browning street, Haileybury, kno‘wn as The Lodge and recently used as an inn. The burldâ€" ing will ‘be a very suitable one for the purpose desired and will be openâ€" ed for use as soon as it can be furnâ€" ished and equipped and a matron secured. The Poreupine District apâ€" preciates the handicap to the C.A.S. work through the need of a shelter and all here will be pleased indeed to know < that Haileybury and district centres have found a way out of the difliculty and will soon have a good Shelter in operation once more. â€" Perâ€" haps, the Poreupine District may folâ€" low the good exampe of the southern part of the district and facilitate the C.A.S. work here by the estaiblishment of a Shelter where youngsters may be housed and cared for until proper homes are secured for them.
