Timmins Juniors t:ed up the Northâ€" ern Group of the N.OMH.A. last Thursday, when they defeated Iroâ€" quois Falls at Iroquois Falls by one goal, the final score being 4â€"3. The Juniors put up a ood brand of hockey, running up the sceore in the first period, and playing a defenâ€" sive game the rest of the evening. Briden, Hardy and Desormeaux starâ€" red for the locals, putting up the best game they have yet this season. ‘The whole team got down to combination, and played it during the first period, before the heavier Papermakers could get:going right. Shortly after the game started Sampson and Desorâ€" meaux in a piece of nice combination scored the first for the local boys. Shortly after Desormeaux and Briden went down the ice, Desormeaux passâ€" ing to Briden, the latter making it two for the Gold Miners. Sampson then went in alone, and ‘beat Mills again. The gong rang with the Timmins boys three goals up and the Panermakers being unable as yet to find the net behind Levine. The second period saw the Falls sextette loosening up some, two talâ€" lies being credited to them during this period.â€" Briden made it four for Timmins when he sent in a hot one, which Mills did not see. During the third period, wirth the seore two up in their favour the Timâ€" mins boys fell hack on a defensive game. *‘Fat‘‘ Levine was hurt early in the period, but ‘‘Fat‘‘ considers a bad bump as nothing, and though the Falls got another one in, he handled all shots coming his way very nicely. The final gong rang, with the league tied, necessitating a playâ€"off at Timâ€" mins on Monday night. Mr. Reneâ€" Fournier â€" handled the game and gave general satisfaction. The teams were:â€"â€" Timminsâ€"Levine, â€" goal; â€" Morash and Hackett, defence; Sampson, right PARTICULARS of CONTEST Write out the Klin: Jingle on one side of the paper only, filling in the last line, using any â€"one of the three Jingles you like.
