The road at the point where the accident occurred was ful! of deep ruts as well as dangerous from its iey condition. It is thought that striking a rut the car swerved and crashed over the embankment. Miss Burns, though injured and reâ€" ceiving a serious shock, did not lose consciousness. She managed to get up on the road and went at onece for help for Mr. Pillsworth. Miss Burns played the part of a heroine, making her way bravely along, despite her inâ€" juries, crawling when she could nat walk. She roused Mr. J. Shewan who in turn secured the services of Dr. Muterer. _On arrival at the scene of the accident it was thought at first that Mr. Pillsworth was unconâ€" scious, and accordingly he was hurâ€" ried to the doctor‘s office for better attention and treatment than could be given by the roadside. At the otâ€" fice, however, it was found that death had been instantaneous. Mr. H. E. Montgomery, was notified and visited the scene of the tragic acâ€" cident and learned all particulars that could be known. An inquest was not required under the cireumstances. Under medical care and attention Miss Burns is making good progress to recovery. She is at present at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Osborne Orr, South Porecupine. The funeral of the late Bruce Pillsâ€" worth was held on Sunday morning, and was very largely attended. The remains were taken to Port Hope for interment, his father and mother reâ€" siding in that town, the town where he was born 33 years ago. There was a large number of floral tributes from the Oddfellows of South Poreupin® and Timmins, the Rebekahs of South Porcupine, the G.W.V.A., and others including a number from a few of his innumerable friends in the Camp. There was service at the 1.O.0â€"/FR. Hall conducted by PXi. Bro. Reynolds and Rev. G. R. McVittie. There was a large Union Jack over the coffin, the deceased having served with distineâ€" tion overseas ~with the 228th Batâ€" talion.. He was a valued member of the 1.0.0.F. and there were over. a hundred (Oddfellows in the line of march to the station, fully three hunâ€" dred others of his friends paying their last sad tributes to this departâ€" ed good friend. In addition to the bereaved parents, a number of brothers survive, two of whom, Messrs. John and (Perey Pillsâ€" worth, are residents of Englehart. To these and to all other near relaâ€" tives and friends all in the Poreupine will extend wery heartfelt sympathy. Timmins a Good Town to Work in, a Fine Place to?Live Each Christmas time it has been the custom of The Advance to give a brief review of the Town of Timâ€" mins to indicate its growth and adâ€" vancement. In an issue last August a similar review was published and it will be found that there is much now to be added to the summary. ‘Timâ€" mins is making â€"rapid progress in every way, without any of the disadâ€" vantages of anything like an untimeâ€" Iy boom. The growth is rapid, but substantial.
