The Hollinger Mine, becanse of its outstanding suceess and because of its worldâ€"wide fame as one of the greatest gold mines in the world has béen specially signalled out by the schemers. The Hollinger Conâ€" solidated (Gold Mines on more than one recent occasion has had to warn its shareholders against the improper use of its name, and under date of Dec. 2nd. the President, Mr. N. A. Timmins, sends out the following genâ€" eral warning and good advice to all stockholders in the Big Mine:â€"â€" ‘*Shareholders are warned to be on their guard against swindling schemes which seem to be cropping up with inâ€" creasing frequency, no doubt promptâ€" ed by the success the Company has achieved. ‘"Recently a number of our shareâ€" holders have been approached by teleâ€" phone with requests to send in their shares endorsed in blank for exchange Unwarranted use is also being made of the Company‘s name in the adverâ€" tisements and cireulars of other Minâ€" ing Companies and selfâ€"styled Finanâ€" cial and Investment concerns. ‘‘Shareholders will receive official notice of all Company matters in which they are interested. _ No reâ€" auests have been made or authorized quest quests have been made or authorized by the Hollinger Company in regard to exchange of shares, and neither the Company nor its Directors are conâ€" nected or interested in any way with any person, firm or corporation re> questing the exchange of Hollinger shares or makin(r unwarranted use of the Company‘s name. THERE WERE BOOZE AND ALSO HOME BREW CASES cases at the police court here 12« Thursday had reference in spots to one or other of these three distincet liquids,â€"liquor, booze and homeâ€"brew. A couple of men were fined $10.00 and costs for having too much liquor inâ€" side. Giovanni Madeletto, who lives in the Mattagami section, and has a. rooming house there, paid $200.00 and costs for illegally having booze in a public place. Pete Fioravarti, for having homeâ€"brew paid $200.00 and costs. A goodâ€"sized young lady from Toronto was charged under the act in regard to transporting liquor. She was fined $200.00 and costs. The case arose from a consignment of liquor or booze brought here in a trunk. The assault case arising from the dispute in a loceal cafe was dismissed. The wage case was withdrawn. The man arrested for illegally transporting liâ€" quor was dismissed. The transfer men who identified him as the gentleman giving the check to release the trunk in question, gave a different date on the witness stand to the day on which effort was made to release this partiâ€" cular trunk. The result was that the ease could not be upheld against the man in question. The trunk and joyâ€" ful contents. were confiseated. There are three kinds of liquid that the Ontario Temperance Act objects to,â€"liquor, booze and homeâ€"brew. Monday evening a gentleman who hag been in this country for a few months expressed disappointment â€"at the small amount of snow there seemed to be here. He expected much more.
