Bossuby Committed for Trial. Thursday was a busy day at the Police Court. One of the special cases at the court was the charge of woundâ€" ing with intent to do grievous bodily harm preferred against Nick Chxz, Ossif Onoski and M. Hoaz. The vieâ€" tim of the assault, A. Bossuby, appear ed in court swathed in bandages. He was in the hospital for several days after the row and ‘had he not been a particularly strong man there is little doubt but that the injuries he receivâ€" ed would have caused his death. Mr. J. E. Cook appeared for the three acâ€" cused men and a plea of not guilty was entered. The three men elected to be tried by the next court of crimin al cases. In the preliminary hearing be‘tore Magistrate Atkinson, the vieâ€" tim of the assault, A. Bossuby, told about going into the ‘house on Fourth Avenue on Oct. 3lst and talking to the three accused <men and others there. They told him to get out, sayâ€" ing t] xev would not have anything to do with a ‘‘spotter.‘‘ He denied being a ,pntter and did not get out, and then, recording to his story, they attacked him with chairs and a ‘bammer. Bossuby adâ€" mited having bad a drink on the night of the assault, but suggested that he was by no means drunk or quarrelâ€" some. Tenders for the construction of the extension of the C.JP.R. from Kipawa to the river Des Quinze are now being prepared, and it seems the long talkâ€" edâ€"of projected line will shortly beâ€" come a reality. ‘The new extension will be 54 miles in length and may cost about two million dollars. It will run about eight miles east of Ville Marie, and eighteen miles south of: Haileybury. A branch line will be kbuilt into Ville Marie. The Des Quinze waterfall is rated to lhe one of the most important in north ern Quobee. It is estimated to be capable of generating any where from 190,000 to 209,000 horsepower. This great wateppower lies adjacent ‘to Haileybury and within about fifteen miles of the T. N. 0. Beniah Bowman has announced that the revenue from the Department of Lands and Forests for this year will amount to three quarters of a million dollars more than last year. The revenue last year was $1,092,000.
