Mines of WINDSOR HAS TASTE On Tuesday of last week four hunâ€" dred foreigners, chiefly Austrians and Russians, went down from F ord, ()m to Windsor to make a demonstration in favor of one of their number who had been arrested on a charge of inâ€" citing his comrades against the law regarding National Registration. The demonstration was of the same kind and style as the one here in March of this year, when C onsovitech was under arrest for seditious utterances. Had Consovitch receeived a â€" sentence in proportion to the injury to loyalty and order through his agitation, it is not likely that the aliens at W indsor would have attempted the demonstraâ€" tion last week. So long as they find that they can do such things withâ€" out m]ur\ to themselves, and so long as there is a premium on (lnalm alty, and special privileges for alieus in this ecountry, such disorders may Dbe expected. However, in the Windsor ‘ase, the city was well supplied with police at the time the demonstration took place. Not only had the city its own large foree of police, but there were also many Dominion police on duty. _ The result was that the, affarr was quickly and effectively handled. About half of the demontraitors were put under arrest, the balance fading away as quickly as possible. _ Of those arrested, about 100 were found to be withouit proper papers, so were given over to the military authorities under the Military Service Act. Many of those arrested had their pockets with L. W.W. and Bolsheviki OF BOLSHEVIKISM. y nave the proâ€" literature. It is interesting to note that many of ithe Austrians and Russitâ€" ans from here who were noticed in the Bolsheviki parade in Timmins on Mar. 14th, went to Windsor later. Indeed, for a time in April, Windsor seemed to be the chief cenire of attraction for aliens asking permission to travel from Timmins. Iroquois Falls will likely have the pick team of the visitors here on July 1st, and the contest for the prize may develop into a battle between the Paper Town and Gold Camp teams. Iroquois Falls is reported to have an unusually good battery. The lineâ€"up for Timmins will probably include the following players, with Appel pitching and Borland eatching :â€"C. Appel, W. Borland, I. K. Pierce, Claney, N. Raciâ€" cot, E. McCoy, Aspect, Burns, H. C. MeDonald, C. M. Auer, J. Deacon and Houston. SULPHIDE DYKE BEING TRACED NEAR SWASTIKA The use of sulphur in the manufacâ€" ture of high explosives has aroused reâ€" newed interest in the sulphide dyke in Otto: and Eby Townships, and. some oldâ€"time prospectors have gone in to look over the district. The dyke has been followed along for about two and a half miles in length and it is said to show a rich deposit of sulphide that promises rich returns in commerâ€" crial sulphur.
