Isaae Quinn, formerly Fire Chief at Haileybury, died in hospital in England from wounds received on October 26th. He came to Haileyâ€" bury in 1906, and from 1810 until the time of his enlistment he was Fire Chief? at Haileybury, building up a firstâ€"class fireâ€"fighting brigade for the town. He went overseas with the 159th Battalion, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in that Batâ€" talion, and for a time a bombing and musketry instructer. However, to gset to the front he reverted to the ranks, going to France as a private. On October 26th, he was reported as wounded in the arm and knee and was removed to a French hospital. Later, his condition was found to be more serious than at first supposed, and he was transferred to an hospital in England, where, after lingering for some weeks, he passed away. A man who knew him well sums up the charâ€" acter of Ptce. Isaae Quinn with the words :â€"â€"**He was a fine fellow, brave, straight, publieâ€"spirited, and in us death, as in his life, gave hiumself to itlm service of his fellows."
