This employee-driven tradition is now into its 33rd year, with capital markets em ployees and W ood Gundy investment advisors do nating their fees and com m issions in support of the CIBC Children' s Foundation. Last year, CIBC Miracle Day raised $7 m il lion for the foundation that disperses funds to support charities that enhance the health, education and w ell being of children across Canada and around world. CIBC Miracle Day has raised nearly $90 m illion across Canada and $241 m illion globally since 1984, helping kids to reach their potential and rise above. Food4Kids Halton said it was grateful to all the employees at CIBC W ood Gundy Oakville for this amazing contribution. "We will be able to feed more than 45 chil dren every weekend for an entire school year with this donation," said Food4Kids Halton Community Relations Manager Gayle Kab bash, in an email. Food4Kids Halton provides a supply of healthy foods to 500 children between the ages of four and 14 years from low -incom e or hom es in need, in the community, with lim ited or no access to food each weekend. Children are referred to Food4Kids Halton by their schools and on Fridays Food4Kids Halton discreetly places bags of food into the child' s own backpack. Youth volunteers w ill be com ing out to pre pare a hot brunch and will be serving from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve breakfast dates back more than three years. Once again, the Glen Abbey Sobeys grocery store will be donating food to make the event happen. Change by YOUth volunteers w ill be pre paring and serving 100 meals and 100 loot bags w ill be distributed.
