Burlington trustee Andrea Grebenc defeated the incum bent vice-chair, M ilton trustee Kim Graves, in the recent trustee elections. The board does not announce the vote count. Oakville trustee Tracey Ehl Harrison ran un contested as vice-chair and w as acclaimed. The chair and vice-chair positions have a oneyear term. Grebenc' s elevation to the role of chair ends a four-year run by Oakville trustee Kelly Amos. Grebenc was elected to the Halton public board in 2014, serving Burlington Wards 3 and 6. She has participated in policy and bylaw development, the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) Steering Committee and the board' s Inspire Awards. Ehl Harrison was elected in November 2014 representing Oakville Wards 1 and 2. She has played key roles in a number of board commit tees including Communications and Program and Accommodation, and helped develop the Inspire Awards.
