M in h i o CM cd !> -- Dramatic leading of A Christmas Carol hosted by church Oakville residents are invited to celebrate this festive time with the Church of the Incarnation and Charles Dickens with a dramatic reading of Dickens' A Christmas Carol on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7 :3 0 p.m. The Church of the Incarnation is located at 1240 Old Abbey Lane, Oakville. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the "greening" of the Church of the Incarnation, as it becomes an energy passive building. "It is a truly fantastic production," Judy Maddren, formerly of CBC and founder of the Dickens Christmas Carol reading, said in a press release. "It really gets everyone into the Christmas spir it and makes a real difference for a local organiza tion during this special time of the year." This Oakville production of A Christmas Car ol features well-known CBC personalities Jeff Douglas from As It Happens, Jill Dempsey from Metro Morning, The National CBC health reporter Kass Roussy, Matt Llewellyn from Here and Now, and Nora Young from Spark. Local talent Marnie Kersten of Oakville also joins the cast. The Incarnation Festival Choir and the Oakville Chamber Choir will provide the musical accompaniment, directed by Dr. Charlene Pauls. Since 1990, people across Canada have been crowding into churches and theatres to hear Dickens' timeless story read aloud over the holi day season. Produced in more than 100 communities across Canada, A Christmas Carol has raised thousands of dollars for local groups and organizations. Tickets are $ 30 each or $25 for seniors and stu dents.
