Remembrance Day ceremonies Oakville residents interested in honouring Canada's veterans or paying their respects to the nation's war dead can attend ceremonies taking place on Remembrance Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. The Oakville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 114 will hold a Remembrance Day ceremony at George's Square (Trafalgar Road and Palmer Avenue). Residents are advised to attend shortly before 11 a.m. at which time the memorial service will commence. The Royal Canadian Legion in Bronte, General Chris Vokes Branch 486, held its Remembrance Day ceremony last Sunday (Nov. 5). However, a ceremony will also be held at the Trafalgar Memorial, located at the east end of Memorial Park at the corner of Oak Park Boulevard and Central Park Drive, this Saturday, Nov. 11. Residents are advised to arrive at that event at around 10:50 a.m. The Trafalgar Memorial recognizes Trafalgar Township veterans who served during the First and Second world wars and the Korean War.
