The second place finisher, Ryan Fitzgerald of Team USA completed the course with a time of 1:17:57. "Ian is a m achine," said Boissonneault. He also took third place in the over 40 tandem category with the help of an American partner. Boissonneault said other Oakville firefighters ran personal bests during the championships. He emphasized the competition is not just about bragging rights noting that preparing for and participating in these events builds endurance that will help Oakville' s firefighters do their jobs better.
