The first being the wedding of Mr. James Haley. eldest son of Mr. Pat- rick Haley, of the 6th, to Miss Bella Martin, second daughter of Mr. Alex. Martin. The happy couple spent their honeymoon in the Queen City and are now happily settled. The young couple are both popular and ' the best wishes of the community arei ‘ with them. Another happy event, of which we have no details. was the wedding of Mr. Thos. Jackson, of the Glen, and Miss Maggie Nelson of the 4th con., which took place in the Presbyterian Manse in Durham last Wednesday morning. Brief mention was made in last week’s Chronicle, but the bride’s name was given as Wilson in- stead of Nelson. However she has discarded her old surname now. "Tom” is one of the most level- headed of the many successful young yoemen in the Glen and is a true- hearted, upright fellow with pro- gressive ideas and pluck to carry them into practice. Maggie is the second daughter of Mr. Paul Nelson .and is one of the brightest of maidens and a tidy, clever homemaker. They took the train for Galt to visit their many relatives there. May the joys of happy wedlock he their’s through . life. Owing to the stpyms and bad roads 'l‘his neighborhood also reJoices in the happy union of Mr. John Agnew Little and Miss Sadie Ector and no than does the writer of these lines.
