Silk of Sarnia, the ofiicial in i-harge of the horses, said some very good ones were shown and while the heavier classes were not so good, the general average would come up well with any fair he has visited this ear. He gave this information to PM Chronicle personally, so there is no hearsay about it. ‘ -_ALI- In the sheep, swine, and cattle classes, Mr. A. B. Marne, the gov- ernment judge, said that he was very much taken with these classes, especially among the sheep, where some animals were shown that should have. been in the Toronto Exhibition competition. The outside classes, however, were not well filled in a good many in- stances, owing to the inclement weather. All day Tuesday it rained incessantly and on toward night it threatened snow, not turning clear until on towards morning, when it got quite cold. 'l‘oward noon the sun commenced to warm things up to a comfortable. temperature, and while the afternoon was pleasant enough. though chilly, the damage had been done and as a consequence the stock exhibit was away lighter than it would otherwise have been.
