At around 4 :4 5 a.m ., Halton police were called to a home on Churchill Avenue after receiving a report of a stabbing. Police said a male victim was taken to hospital and treated for a puncture wound to his abdomen. He was released later the same evening. Police began an investigation and executed a search w arrant at a residence on Churchill Avenue and at a home on Elm Road. One man was arrested. David Thom pson, 50, of Oakville has been charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a weapons prohibition. Police said Thom pson and the victim are known to each other. Thom pson attended a bail hearing at the Milton courthouse Tuesday (O ct. 2 4 ). The incident began at around 10 p.m., when three individuals approached a group of teen boys at the South Oakville Centre at 1515 Rebecca St. Police allege one of the teen victims was "body checked" while another victim was able to dodge attempts to kick and punch him. One suspect allegedly attempted to take one victims backpack, slightly injuring the victim. Another suspect grabbed a plastic bag one of the boys was carrying, but dropped it when he saw it only contained food. The teens managed to flee the area and report the incident to police. The first suspect is described as white, fivefoot-eight to five-foot-nine, 18-21 years old with braces across his teeth and a tattoo on his right forearm. He wore baggy clothes including dark sweatpants and a grey hoodie. The second suspect is described as white, taller than the first suspect with a large brown beard and long brown hair worn in a bun.
