Forest. or JAS. BRYDON‘, Egerton, Executors. This week it is our painful duty to record the death of Mr. Jas. Mc- Cracken, jr , which took place just ten days after his father’s demise. His death was due to some brain trouble which caused him excruciat- ing pain for the last few weeks. He was an estimable young man. thirty years of age. and his death at this time is a hard blow on his lately widowed mother, who looked to him as her future stay and support. We tender the family the sympathy of the community in their double sorrow Thos. Scarf. Thos Morrison and Wm. Ritchie paid a business trip to Markdale last week. While there they visited the House of Refuge. Dan, Thos. and J. W. Firth were all home for Christmas. Mr. Tnos. Banks, who has been living in Owen Sound for two. years. is expected back on his farm here this week. Alex. Jopp, who spent the summer sailing, is visiting his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Edge. The tea bush is indigenous to Assam in Northern India, and botanists are of the opinion that it is the parent species of all the cultivated varieties in India, Ceylon, China and elsewhere. In a wild state, it grows to a height of fifteen to twenty feet, but the cultivated shrub is only three to four feet high.
