Friday October 29, 1999 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER 15 Christmas Craft Fair coming next month M ore than 50 o f C an ad a's m ost talented artists and craftspeople will m eet at the 7th annual Spirit of C hristm as C raft Fair on Nov. 13th14th at St. V olodym yr C u ltu ral Where? St. V o lo d y m y r C e n tre W h e n ? Nov. 13th & 14th Band in key (Continued from page 13)' At the beginning of the last school year, the instruments were looking and sounding pretty, well, bad. It was our superintendent, Mr. Piovesan, who helped get them repaired and tuned, this was done with the help of Mrs. P. Houlahan, a m em ber o f the Holy Family School Council. The support for the band and hard work and practicing of the student band members lead to a successful act in the Spring Concert. The band ended up playing Power rock and Fidgets. Last year the band consisted of mainly grades 4, 5 and 6 students. This year we hope to have representatives from grades 4 through 8. I think that, with some dedication, our band has the chance to compete at the Kiwanis Festival. Although we have lost Mrs. Quenneville, the band's enthusiastic and energetic conductor/organizer and teacher, we have the `right stuff' in Mrs. Hryhorsky and so we look for ward to another great year of music at Holy Family. C entre, at Hwy. 5 and Fourth Line. The show offers a variety o f m er ch an d ise to suit every taste. W oodwork includes everything from h an d-carved and painted w ildlife sculpture to decorated trinket boxes, d eco rativ e hand-blow n glass and several unique forms o f pottery. The Fireside Cafe will provide a m enu o f U krainian hom em ade meals and light snacks. The show is open Saturday, Nov. 13th, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 14th, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. A dm ission is $4, no charge for children under 13, and includes free parking.
