On Sept. 30th, in Milton, newcomer Kyle Dorosh netted his first hat trick of the season while teammates Jordy McMillan, Jeff Nabeta, and Kevin Sinclair added one apiece. In this 6-3 win over Milton, the assists were earned by Lucas Parnanzone, Corey Halyk, Sinclair (2), Marc Richardson, Nabeta, and Ryan Mant. The Rangers trounced visiting Hespeler on Oct. 3rd, defeating them by a lopsided score, 17-1. Kyle Dorosh led the attack with six goals while Jordy McMillan and Michael Gomes each earned their first hat trick of the season. Additional goals were pocketed by Jeff Nabeta, Lucas Parnanzone, Carey Halyk, Brent Higgins, and Kevin Sinclair. Assists were contributed by virtually every member of the team. On Oct. 7th, the Ranger downed Georgetown 6-1. Leading the offence for the Rangers were Kyle Dorosh (2), Jordy McMillan, Lucas Parnanzone, Michael Gomes, and Corey Halyk. Assists were tallied by Kevin Sinclair (2), Mark Harris (2), McMillan, Marc Richardson, and Gomes. The Rangers were handed their first defeat of the season on Oct. 13th against a rejuvenated Caledon team who skated away with a 5-0 win. Just two nights later, in Oakville, the Rangers faced a well-disciplined team from Ancaster. Trailing two goals throughout the first two periods of the game, the Rangers fought back in the third period with goals by Mark Harris (assisted by Marc Richardson and Lucas Parnanzone) and Kyle Dorosh (assisted by Parnanzone) to finish up 2-2. The Rangers were not quite as fortu nate in their next meeting with Ancaster on Oct. 18th. Despite a promising first period, the Rangers floundered briefly in the second which proved to be the turn ing point of this close game which saw Ancaster earn a 4-3 win. Scoring for the Rangers were Jordy McMillan, Kevin Sinclair and Jeff Nabeta. Assists were contributed by Sinclair, Lucas Parnanzone, McMillan, and Kyle Dorosh. Sign up fo r... ... Lukajic grabbed a loose puck in front of Chargers' goalie Luc St. Martin, deking him out, and scored the eventual game winner. Oakville and M ississauga applied pressure throughout the rest o f the second period, with key chances for both clubs. Oakville goalie M att Collaton kept his team up by one with a great save off a scramble in front. With under three minutes remaining in the period, Collaton was down on the ice. A floating puck com ing tow ard the net was blocked by C ollaton's reaching arm. The third period proved to be the most excit ing and rough period. Back and forth chances by both teams showed great play by both goalies. With the Chargers pulling their goalie, they put on tremendous pressure on the Blades' defence. M ississauga had many chances but just could not put the puck in the net. The Blades had goals from Sajko, Kapuscinski, and Lukajic. Assists on those goals were from Sajko, Chris Pethick, Chris Knighton, Bob Jaggard, and Mike Porter. Jason Dubblestyne and Waylon Kerr scored for the Chargers. Kerr, M ichael Oliveria, Jason Francis, and Adam Daly added helpers for Mississauga. SUNDAY'S GAME Sunday's encore between the Oakville Blades and Mississauga Chargers had a near identical result, with Oakville winning another one-goal verdict, this one 4-3. The Blades broke open a close 1-1 game after one period to head into the second intermission up 4-1. The Blades almost couldn't stand prosperity, as the Chargers whittled the gap to 4-3 in the final frame. "We decided to go to sleep," quipped Blades general manager George McDonald. Scoring for the Blades were Alex Hetmanczuk, Chris Knighton, Rob Kapuscinski and M ike Lukajic. Assists went to Marc Pinizzotto (2), Chris Pethick, Gavin Milligan, Scott Westlake, Steve Kinnunen, Kapuscinski and Mike Porter. For the Blades it was their third game over lowly M ississauga in a span of five games with the Blades winning all three. And a good thing, too, as it allowed the not-so high flying Blades to climb to within two games of the .500 mark.
