The o -i--* CD concert begins at 8 p.m. JZ Mirizio has been playing with Pavlo' s a ) a '< / ) band for f8 years. The tour has taken the Oakville native around the world including: Japan, England, South Korea, Singapore and all across North America. Born and raised in Oakville, Mirizio is happy to be home. "I've got all my family coming out (to the con cert)." After graduating from Gordon E. Purdue High School in Oakville, Mirizio studied music at Humber College in Toronto. Mirizio always played piano, as well as saxophone in high school. But he started playing drums at the age of f8 and "the lights came on." Mirizio finally found his calling. A fortunate meeting with renowned man ager Bernie Fiedler resulted in a highly suc cessful tour with Liona Boyd -- the First Lady of the Guitar. During this tour, Mirizio m et Pavlo, which resulted in Mirizio joining Pavlo's group. Since then, they have toured all over the world together. "The rest is history," adds Mirizio. "It's re ally a tour that never ends." Pavlo has released 11 albums of his own music, plus two collaborative projects, in cluding the 2 0 1 5 album Guitarradas with Remigio Pereira, and the 2 0 0 9 album Trifecta with fellow guitar masters Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez. Mirizio said the band recently recorded a concert in Greece called Live in Kastoria, which is being broadcast on PBS and they are promoting on tour. "It's been a huge hit," he adds.
