Oakville Beaver Weekend Sunday, November 7, 1999 w a r e h o u s e c le a r a n c e Two minutes silence will highlight Thursday's Remembrance Day cere mony at the Cenotaph at George's Square at 11 a.m. The Oakville Legion will be partic ipating in the Royal Canadian Legion's Wave o f Silence to be observed at 11 a.m., local time, across the various time zones from Newfoundland to British Columbia, said Bill Allan, vice-president of the Oakville Legion. It's part of a campaign to urge "everyone to stop what they're doing for two minutes," said Allan. The two-minute silence will be fol lowed by the reading of John McCrae's R e m e m b ra n c eD a yceremony Thursday `In Flanders Fields' by M ichelle Ashbumer, the laying of wreaths, the Prayer of Remembrance said by Major Ray Braddock o f the O akville Salvation Army, and the singing of `Onward Christian Soldiers.' * Last Post' and `Reveille' will be played by Bruce Taylor, conductor of the Oakville Salvation Army Band. Pastor Douglas Bramer of Hopedale Bible Chapel will also par ticipate in the ceremony. George's Square is on Trafalgar Road between Palmer and Sumner Avenues. Bagpiper, Jack Jackson, will commence by leading the procession of veterans and cadets into Centre Court. The Reverend Andrew King will host Oakville Place's tribute to those who served.
