Student excels at IB program Halton Catholic District School Board has announced that Fadi Bahodi, of Oakville, a graduating student of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, scored an impressive 41 out of 45 possible points in his studies for the 2016-2017 school year. Bahodi finished with a 7 out of 7 in his biology and chemistry courses; the highest score attainable in an IB course. He achieved a remarkable average of 96.5 per cent overall. "IB is truly what you make out of it," said Bahodi, a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School, in a press release. "Working hard and getting involved will most certainly make it one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experi ences of your life, as it did for mine," he added. Bahodi will study medical sciences at the University of Western Ontario. Founded in 1968, IB is a non-profit educational foundation offering high quality and challenging educational courses to a worldwide community of schools. Schools must be authorized by the IB organization to offer any of the programs. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Sec ondary School received accreditation to offer the IB diploma programme to students in 2012. On Oct. 19, Aquinas will host a parent information session on the IB program at 7 p.m. for Grade 7 and 8 students and their parents.
